My new Focus tells me when to shift, so there must be a sensor for the gears anyhow, not sure about neutral. Are there any remote starts available for a Dodge Dart with a manual transmission that you know of? Or is it do able? Totally doable. I have a Mazda 3, with proximity key and push start, and a manual transmission. I called an auto accessory shop in town that also installs auto-starts, and they said it was no problem.

They installed a 2-way viper auto-start in my vehicle. Here is how it works: 1 Park the car, put in neutral, engage the hand brake, make sure all windows are rolled up and push any button on the remote start remote. The engine will remain running. The engine will now turn off and auto-start is engaged. When the door is opened, the engine will turn off. Bonus feature for my Mazda is that it remembers all the settings when the car is turned off, so I make sure to turn on my rear-window defrost which also engages the heated mirrors and heated seats before I engage the auto-start.

Thanks, Steve. I have a Mazdaspeed 3. Manual transmission as well as push to start method. I do not have to use key and turn like older vehicles just have to have the advanced key within range. Can this be used if I have this? And also how does it work for instance if the trunk is opened will reservation mode be turned off?

Or does the driver door have to be left open and then the last one closed. Because in all seriousness somebody could climb in from the trunk or any other door and put it in a different gear or change one of the other requirements.
